The renovation of the lower level of the American Dental Association headquarters at 211 East Chicago was undertaken to upgrade the image of the "basement" to a quality office environment and to recapture the under-utilized storage area as leasable space. The ADA also wanted to develop their in-house duplicating and office service areas as a retail amenity for building’s tenants. The space has been created with lively, updated public corridor areas, a state-of-the-art printing facility, a shipping/receiving center, and an employee lounge and tenant storage areas. 5,000 square feet of leasable tenant area was recaptured, as well as 15,000 square feet of space chargeable to the ADA.
